Joint Analysis of travelers and Legionnaires' disease data

Project description

Development of R scripts to support surveillance of Legionnaires' disease data and produce automated analyzes and reports

Context situation

The objectives of the project were:

  • To support Legionnaires' disease surveillance based on four independent datasets:
    • Legionnaires' disease annual data (LEGI)
    • Travel Associated Legionnaires' disease data (TALD)
    • Arrivals at tourist accommodation establishments from Eurostat database
    • Passengers in commercial flights from the International Air Transport Association (IATA)
  • To develop a joint analysis of travelers and Legionnaires' disease data to support the process of risk assessments and routine monitoring of travel associated events

Project activities

Plans of analysis

Development of detailed plans of analysis for each of the four analysis:

  • Legionnaires' disease annual data (LEGI)
  • Travel Associated Legionnaires' disease data (TALD)
  • Determiner date:
    • data on arrivals at tourist accommodation establishments from Eurostat database
    • and data on the volume of passengers in commercial flights from the International Air Transport Association (IATA)
  • Joint analysis of travelers and Legionnaires' disease data

Workshops

Preparing and delivering workshop materials for ECDC staff for each of the four analyses.
